I'm using Cobian Backup 10 (Boletus), installed as a service on my Windows XP SP3 computer. The computer has three users: Admin, Myself (also admin), MyWife (User).

Cobian service is setup to run with the credentials of Myself, so even if MyWife is logged on, CObian will still perform the tasks normally.

Whether it's MySelf or MyWife logged in, it doesn't matter: once a scheduled backup starts, cbService.exe starts to use 50% CPU and the whole system becomes un-responsive/lags. I pause the backup, CPU usage down to 0%, and system is responsive again.

I searched the forums and found a topic on Cobian 11, about the thread that calculates sizes, so I disabled that option. But the service still uses about 50% CPU.

Curiously, usually the status of the Cobian icon indicates "verifying...", which I assume that the backup has been finished and now a verification is being done. I can't affirm that this is the case all the time though.

Is there a way to disable the verification, if this is the case? I couldn't find an option in the settings...

Also, after I pause the backup (at the "verifying" phase), if I click "Resume", nothing happens. The state of the backup remains "Paused". The only thing to do is to cancel the backup.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help.
