Re: Weird VSCopy Error

Re: ost files not being backed up

I think Windows ignores the OST files for the snapshot for some reason (maybe because this is a copy of the server files), I don't know. Anyway: in the registry (regedit.exe) look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToSnapshot And delete the *.ost files. Rest...

Re: Full backup job not overwriting old backups

OK, the problem is then that when it's time to delete the previous backup, the operation will fail because the previous backup is not found (it is on the other drive that is offline). I don't see any other option than probably executing a Pre-Backup event that wipes the destination before the copy b...

Re: Using shortcuts to launch tasks

You could create a task in the user interface with the Schedule type: Manual. Wouldn't that be the same?

Re: Computer not being woken from sleep

A sleeping computer is asleep. The program won't wake it up. You could create a Task Schedule in Windows that wakes the computer up some minute before the scheduled backup task.

Re: Schedule not being respected

When a task is executed it is placed on a queue. If another task is already running before it, the new task will stay on queue until the current one gets executed. If the current tasks takes a loooong time, it is possible that the queue gets saturated until the current task ends. I don't know of any...

Re: Full backup job not overwriting old backups

You don't need to wipe it. I would set up it this way:

1- Uncheck Create separated backups using timestamps
2- Check the incremental option (good for speed)
3- Eventually, check the mirror option

This will just write over the old files, but only those that have been changed.

Re: Extremly slow when backing up to cloud

Are you using FTP or SFTP? Are you uploading a lot of small files perhaps?

Re: Always backup all the files

Is "Clear archive attributes" unchecked? This must be checked for the archive attribute to work. Oh and the task must not be compressed if I remember it correctly!
