Re: Cannot start the VSC

The program is using Windows own Volume Shadow Copy. The requester is just instructing Windows to create a new fresh copy at the moment of the backup.

Re: installing

This option should be checked only if you want to create an installation that can be used to install the program on other machines without the need to click any button. The installation will then run unattended (ie, automatically). This is useful if you need to install the program om many computers ...

Re: Mistery : backup done but empty (only on some machines...all others works)

Try fixing the permissions on the sources of those machines: Tools-Reset permissions and see if it helps.

Re: Hidden user interface

Hello! You are doing everything right. Double-clicking the UI icon should bring the interface up. For some reason., it seems like the interface is already running on some other desktop (are you running on terminal services?). Anyway, bring the task manager up and kill any instance of cbInterface.exe...

I would guess something has changes with the permissions of the file. Try Tools-Reset permissions to see if it helps.

Re: Old backups are not deleted

Everything looks right to me... Try changing the log file to Verbose. This will log absolutely ANY operation the program does (and doesn't). Re: Mistery : backup done but empty (only on some machines...all others works)

If you disable compression for the 2 pcs that are not working, does the backup get executed correctly? I'm guessing it could be some problem with the zip engine (problem with the temporary directory or something else).

Re: Stream write error - differential backup

Zip backups are so fragile (that's why they are discouraged), so it's hard to pinpoint the cause. I would make a guess: is the destination located on the network on another computer? If you change the destination to some other partition in your own computer, do you get the same error then?
