Thatäs happening because I was NOT planning to add compression AT ALL, for this version. After much nagging I added it against my will as a patch. Shouldn't be hard to change this behavior if the program' development continues somehow.

I'm understand. At this moment is everything or nothing (All time stamps are copied, inclusive the top level) or non is copied.

Sftp/ftp sources will always be downloaded fully. No incremental/differential backups possible at this moment.

The first and second expression should be
.*\\node_modules\\.* and not .*\\node_modules\\*.
and
.*\\.*.suo and not .*\\*.suo
.*\\node_modules\\.* and not .*\\node_modules\\*.
and

Cobian Backup doesn't do this. It compressed directly to the destination.

There is no option to start a task at user "login". The option exists to start a task when the system starts. Could be a good idea to add this option as well.
