No encuentras indicaciones en el fichero de diario sobre si los respaldos existentes estan siendo eliminados? Alguna indicación deberias encontrar ahi.

Are you sure the files are gone? Perhaps they are hidden (if you for example copy a root directory like D:\ to E:\, and the attributes are copied, then sometimes Explorer will not show the files because the System/Hidden attribute is being applied to the copy. It depends on what errors you are getting. Could you please post any of those error reports?
