Re: A thread consumes CPU

"CPU consumed by a faulty thread" happened again a few times since my last post. Cannot find out what the cause could be. I set the verbose log but since the fault has nothing in common with backing up process (no backups are running at that time) the log is empty. I tried to stop the Cobian service...

Re: A thread consumes CPU

Does the verbose log log also activities outside of the backup task run? Is there at all any background service activity outside the scheduled backup tasks run (to be caught by the log)? Or do you mean a counting thread from a previous run?
Anyway, I will try the verbose log next time.

Re: Feature request: use MOVE instead of COPY if temp archive in the same drive as destination

Oh, I see. Nevertheless, I guess the "one destination" scenario is used by people quite often so maybe test if this is the case and if so (and the same drive) then use MOVE otherwise use COPY. Not fully perfect but for me completely sufficient logic 😉

Feature request: use MOVE instead of COPY if temp archive in the same drive as destination

Just noticed that when the backup task archive DESTINATION folder is on the same drive as the program TEMP folder after the temporary ZIP is created the program is not using the MOVE operation but still the COPY operation - which requires double free disk space on the drive. Could you check if the T...

Re: A thread consumes CPU

If I stop the Cobian service via the Cobian Service Control this faulty thread keeps running. Then I can't start the service again as it says that is it already started (see picture). Looking at the Windows service manager the service state stays "Stopping...". Looking at the Windows event viewer th...

A thread consumes CPU

All of a sudden a Cobian.Reflector.Service.exe thread consumes continuously about 8% of CPU (see pictures). Looking at the Cobian UI Log tab no backup task is currently running. Strange is that not much is happening in the Process Monitor, just some threads create/exit. Can I do anything more for in...

Re: Feature request: Create archives directly in the destination folder

Didn't think about that. Don't know how the compression process works but cannot you compress piece by piece "in memory" and write the chunks of data simultaneously directly into 5 archive files on different drives?

Re: Task(s) cancelled due to the VCS failure

I have just installed the 0.9.10 BETA version. I enabled "Cancel if Volume Shadow Copy fails" in the global settings. I enabled "Use Volume Shadow Copies" to a few of my tasks - and ran them all manually at the same moment. VSC was created and deleted around each task successfully. So, I am not sure...

Feature request: Create archives directly in the destination folder

Hi Luis, thanks for the global monolithic archive feature adding. Could archives be created directly in the destination folder without being first created in the temporary folder and then moved to the destination folder? Creating archives in the temp folder takes space of the respective drive and th...

Sorry, I can't as I am crazy about using SHIFT-DEL  I'll do if it happens next time.
