Re: Compression Level
Thanks for your response. I had just done a full backup to an old 500GB portable HD, and it took 29 hours at a compression level of 5! I did a little research based on your reply, and found this: File types that are already compressed/badly compressible ( docx, ods, odt, pdf, avi, mkv, mpg, mp4, gif...

Compression Level
Would you explain a little about Compression Level? I understand the higher the level, the greater the compression (and longer run time). What I'd like to know is what effect the Level increment has on common filetypes (PDF, MP3, MP4, AVI, etc.). For instance, using a 1GB MP4 file as an example, how...

Re: Cobian Reflector Service Stopped
The engine started from a boot this morning. I happened to look at the Tools -> Service Control panel and it says "Application Auto-Starting - No Autostart" I don't know if that's pertinent to the problem. PS I STILL have to login EVERY TIME I reply. The message reads "You need to login in order to ...

Re: Cobian Reflector Service Stopped
I don't know. How can I find that information? I don't see a Safe Mirror folder. I was able to start the engine using Services.

Re: Cobian Reflector Service Stopped
I did a clean boot this morning, but didn't look for Reflector. Then I put the system to sleep. This evening a woke it up and got the "Engine not found" message. The timestamp would indicate the error occurred during the boot. - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> -...

Re: Cobian Reflector Service Stopped
Since the re-install on 11/24, and having to manually start the service on 11/26, I've done numerous Shutdown/Reboot and Sleep/Wake sequences, and Reflector has worked each time. I haven't changed anything (that I know of) on my end. Do you have any idea what might have caused the original problem? ...

Re: Cobian Reflector Service Stopped
I will do that. Is there any internal Reflector log that I should activate or send if it happens. I'd like to help. Thanks.

Re: Cobian Reflector Service Stopped
It's logged on as Local System (as far as I can tell). I didn't modify anything in the Reflector setup.

Re: Cobian Reflector Service Stopped
I went to Windows -> Services and was able to restart the Reflector Engine Service from there. Thanks. This is a reasonable fix for the time being.
