Re: why does Cobian Reflector NOT do backups when a new version is available

Just had it happen again. I was running release 2.40. The log showed a new release was available (2.50), and NO BACKUP WAS DONE. I downloaded version 2.50, and tried to install it. however, it kept saying a file was in use, and stopped the installation. I start the server as a service. You would THI...

Re: messages on the board can only attach JPG files, not DOC or TXT

OK, ZIP files seems to be allowed, so I will use that in the future. But, if you canupload a ZIP file, why NOT a text file? :?:

Re: why does Cobian Reflector NOT do backups when a new version is available

I don't think it was asleep. I just 'log off'. The macine and service keep running. When i next log in, the machine was still on, just not logged in.

Have you gotten the new release message, while logged off, when a backup is scheduled?

Re: messages on the board can only attach JPG files, not DOC or TXT

It's not a question of backing up a file. It's regarding attaching a file to a message on the Cobian message board. Only JPGs seem to be allowed as atttachments. all others are flagged as 'not a valid extension'. To provide documentation on the message board, as an attachment, txt and doc files shou...

messages on the board can only attach JPG files, not DOC or TXT

When I encounter a problem, I want to provide as much detail as possible. Ideally, II should be able to attach a backup log, which is a TXT file. This is flagged as 'not a valid extension'. The same thing happens with DOC files. 1. WHY are these file extensions not uploadable? 2. WHAT extensions, ot...

Re: why does Cobian Reflector NOT do backups when a new version is available

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to happen, when the backup is done as a service, and you've logged off. Attached is my 'log list.jpg'. Note no backups from 7-12 through 7-26. Also see my attached 'backup directory.jpg'. Note that there ARE logs for the above dates, of minimal size. Finally, see my ...

why does Cobian Reflector NOT do backups when a new version is available

On several occasions, a new version of Cobian Reflector has become available. However, after that message is posted to the log, the backup stops! If I don't notice it for several days, no backups are created. Is there a reason Reflector can't prodeuce the message, and STILL do the backup? Perhaps an...

can a backup be started while online and continue to run after logout?

Several times, I've wanted to run a backup, but don't want to stay logged on while it runs. Being online locks out some files (in use), so they don't get backed up. I've set a manual start to run in a short amont of time (i.e. 5 minutes from current time) and then logged out, but that method keeps t...
