Re: Pre Task copy different from Main Copy
That is correct, hence my question.. are there any "indicators" like "Archive Attribute" or time and date stamps that Refelctor can use to determine what files to copy. Else I could try write a powershell script pretask that evaluates source and destination folders and lists the differences. If ther...

Re: Photos not being backed up
I have a task to back up all the photos in my Win 11 "Pictures" folder. The folder is made up of hundreds of sub directories and thousands of photos. After a backup, all the folders are there, but not a single picture. Only pictures in the root folder are copied over. Am I missing something? Other ...

Re: Pre Task copy different from Main Copy
The Destination in of the pretask is the source of the secondary copy. From the start we have a Win Server copying over a "industrial" wireless link which we upgraded to 40Mhz for faster throughput to a NetApp on a VXRail 100m away. The next task Once this is done, Copies from the NetApp to a Win Se...

Re: Destination folders
Ok I think I figured it out... So it looks like the reset Archive attribute completes only at the end of the task, not after each file copy. So what was happening with the copy of 128Gb of data the task was either terminated due to slow network (300Mbps) or user intervention (I stopped it) the archi...

Destination folders
Hi folks, so I've just checked that my one incremental backup that backs up files of 23Gb, every couple days takes over 12hrs to complete. I've just noticed that the destination folder has less files than the source. so ... Does Reflector change the destination folder structure in any way? All the f...

Re: swqapping backup destination drives
You may also need to make some changes on your router to allow local/remote access to the USB.
On the router look for SAMBA /SMB and check their settings.
Then typically you would access it via the routers IP share e.g \\192.168.1.1\Share\

Pre Task copy different from Main Copy
I have two backup schedules for the "same" task ..but first, storytime... We have a server located ±30km away with 164Gb of data (20 files @ 8Gb, rest are small ldf's) , the backup path/sequence is Server -> Slow radio Link (20Mhz) -> network switch -> 1Gb Fibre -> 30km -> Backup Server This often t...

User Interface has stopped working
Hi All, I logged onto our Backup Server and taking a look at the current process, and as RDP kicked in I saw the error on screen (Attachment) and the following in the Windows event logs. Application: Cobian.Reflector.UserInterface.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was termin...

Service Check "Engine not found"
Hi, so today I have had two failures with the engine. Which I've never had before. The tray icon is red with "Engine not found" when I double click it. I kick off "Cobian Reflector Main Application" and it kickstarts it again. I'm thinking of scheduling this ps, but I need to confirm the actual serv...

End of day report
Hi, So I've been trying to figure out a way to stream line an option for our daily scheduled tasks, emailing on a failure kind of works, but it looks like the the logfile is inherited by next task if the initial task is running (Some of our tasks can run for an hour or three) So is there then an opt...
