Addition: Trying to run manually a task which has the VSC usage ("Use Volume Shadow Copies") disabled in the task options. However, the task run is still being cancelled due to "...the creation of the VSC failed" (?)

Sorry for a late reply. Deleting the provided folder has helped in my case.
