If the drive is not present when it's time to delete, then it won't be accessible and won't be deleted.

If the backup is compressed, select 7zip instead of zip.

The history is used to count the current number of backups since the last one. If for some reason a backup was empty (without files) or something else happened, then this number method will not give the expected results. Solution: use one FIXED day for full backups in your options.

Yes, but it is dangerous if used as backup. A hammer is not dangerous, when it's expected to be used to hammer nails.
