Out of space error with 2 TB free

I'm backing up onto an external hard drive without compression.

Hard drive is 5 TB
3 TB are used
2 TB are free

I checked whether I can write onto the free space: yes.

cobian stops writing bc "There is not enough space on the disk"

Tried repeatedly, cleaned recycle bin, just in case, no luck.

Any ideas?

Are you using compression? Compression is done in the temporary directory for your user (C:\). Perhaps is that disc that is getting out of space.

No, I don't use compression

faca um teste, ao inves de backup full 3TB faca de uma unica pasta pequena.

esta ativado copia sombra volume? tente desativar para testar.
