Weird VSCopy Error

Post by losasvard » Tue Sep 10, 2019 2:23 pm

Good morning all,

Been using Cobian successfully for years now and this past week the following error just appeared...not sure where it came from, nothing has changed:

2019-09-09 20:03 Starting the Volume Shadow Copy snapshot for the drives: E:\
ERR 2019-09-09 20:03 Error while creating the Volume Shadow Copy snapshot: The requested object does not exist.

This happens for all drives we are backing up (data only).

Service is running and healthy, backup tasks have not changed.

Anything to do before I uninstall and re-install?

EDIT: I should mention that the backup still completes successfully but, of course, if files are in use, does not back those up.

Looking forward to hearing back,

Louis

Hello!

Sorry for the delay. Could you check if:

1) Under Options-General-Service and application control, under the tab Services:

a) Volume Shadow Copy requester is started
b) That you have .NET 3.5 installed (is not installed by default on Windows 10 and I thing some patch disabled this options sometimes)
