NAS login Credentials

Post by bowman » Wed Aug 21, 2019 1:54 pm

How do I input login credentials for a NAS device to use it as a storage location?

It depends. With my NAS I use the Advanced tab of my task: (Run the task as another user) and enter the user credentials for my NAS. It works. In other cases perhaps you will need to login by executing a bat file as a pre-backup event. Or, if your NAS has FTP capabilities, you could use that to backup.

I have tried the run as another user and cannot get the setting correct or something.
I entered the User name for the Synology NAS
I entered the name of the NAS. (No .'s or /'s or \'s)

I know the credentials work because I can map a drive from the machine to the NAS using the credentials.

This is the error I get.
The user "syn-3\XXXXXX" couldn't logon: The user name or password is incorrect

If I enable the Guest account on the NAS, the software will connect. The account I am using has full access to the folder.

I would like to use your software for this, but it is not looking good.

Any help would be appreciated.
