Using shortcuts to launch tasks

Post by JohnX » Sat Aug 31, 2019 10:59 pm

Hello there,

I'm running Cobian backup as a service under Win 10 Home ver. 1903.

I'd like to be able to have tasks automatically run on schedule (Something I know how to do), but also to use Windows shortcuts to run some manually using the command line as described in the doc.

Creating a task with a manual schedule type is easy. However, when I launch it from a CMD prompt, I get an error box stating that "another instance of CB 11 is already running. Perhaps the service is running in the background? Exiting."

Of course, the service was running. But killing the interface and/or stopping the service doesn't help: I'm still getting the same message.

Is there a way to have the best of both worlds: Automatic AND manually run tasks?

Thank you.

You could create a task in the user interface with the Schedule type: Manual. Wouldn't that be the same?
