Setup of Email Logfile reports

Cannot obtain successful definition of Email server:
Using "smtp.cox.net Port 465" with authentication which has my username and password definitions, yet cannot get a successful test run. I am wondering if the fact that logging into cox.net requires 2 step verification, with messaging to phone a code to enter following the log- entry, is causing the failure???
