Errors in Backup - causing backup disc to become full

The log is showing several error messages as follows:

ERR 2022-11-28 15:08 Couldn't load the history file for the task "Users - TP, JP & Pub": Cannot open file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cobian Backup 11\DB\{0ACA20E6-5D15-4549-916F-BAADAF7ADBA2}.cbu". Access is denied
ERR 2022-11-28 15:28 Couldn't load the engine settings: Cannot open file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cobian Backup 11\Settings\cbEngine.ini". Access is denied

As a result for the last four days a FULL backup (rather than incremental) has been created for each user, thereby rapidly filling up the backup disc.

The older FULL copies are not being deleted as per the schedule instructions.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Try repairing the permissions with the Permissions tool.

Thanks for your response; however despite going into Permissions and checking/resetting those permissions, today's backup shows the same errors of 'file access denied' as before. That backup also performed a full not incremental version too.

Should I reinstall the Backup program or move to your new Reflector program?

If the old one worked then there is no reason to use the new one.

Well, for the sake of doing something, I uninstalled Cobian Backup and then download/installed it from the website with settings to runthe main user backups as an incremental task, with a full backup every 7th day..

When the job ran this afternoon, it ran as a full backup taking more than an hour and produced the same errors e.g. Couldn't load the history file for the task ... Cobian Backup 11\DB\{4608971A-3DF5-4BFF-91B1-40403056A106}.cbu". Access is denied.

I thinK I will just give CB away and maybe try CR instead.

Reflector is now installed and operating. So far so good, no weird error messages.

Thanks.
