Can't Seem to Exclude System Volume Information

Post by swillwiffery »

Hello all.

I keep getting these errors after my daily backup from my D drive to my E drive:

ERR 2022-12-20 04:57 The directory "E:\System Volume Information\Chkdsk" couldn't be deleted: Access is denied

ERR 2022-12-20 04:57 The file "E:\System Volume Information\tracking.log" could not be copied to the safe mirror directory "C:\Users\r\AppData\Local\Safe Mirror\E\System Volume Information": Access is denied

I have these entries under "Exclude these files" in the settings:

D:\System Volume Information
E:\System Volume Information
E:\System Volume Information\Chkdsk
E:\System Volume Information\tracking.log

Any idea what I might be missing? Thanks much! :OK

This is solved in Reflector.

I beg to differ: https://ibb.co/8mt8YRN

In the attached image you can see Reflector doing exactly the same thing, and I already added "System Volume Information" to the exclude list.

What else can I try?

Sorry, I don't get it. It's a FAQ that says the same thing I already did: exclude the folder from the backup. But the error persists, so what else can I try? :P

Will take a look at that.

BTW, the problem is that you are indicating 2 files in a "directory" that cannot be accessed. Just delete

E:\System Volume Information\Chkdsk
E:\System Volume Information\tracking.log

from your list
