Backup edit error.

Post by Tatone69 »

Regards, sorry me for my bad english.
I have a problem with a scheduled backup.
I had initially set the differential backup type and 3 copies retention rule.
After making 2 copies with these rules, I decided to change the backup type.
I deleted the tasks, I deleted the old backup copies in the destination folder, I created a new task with the same source and destination.
I don't understand why Cobian didn't go back to backup with the new rules.
I'll explain.
The first copy of a folder was a differential type.
The first copy of another folder was a full type.
The first copy of another folder was made without adding in the copy name, full or differential.
As if Cobian was still using the order of execution of the old rules.
The first copy of all folders must be
full type.
Instead, a folder was mistakenly of the differential type, a folder was correctly of the full type, a folder mistakenly did not indicate the backup type.
What should I do to fix this error?
Should I also delete the history of the backups made?
Do I uninstall Cobian and install it?
:D
Thanks.

I answer myself.
Sorry for my bad English.
When you save a task and you want to make changes, I recommend that you delete the old task, the backup copies and create a new task.
The new task starts without errors.

You could also delete the history of the backup to force the task to begin from zero.
