I can't make it stop wanting to do full-backups

Post by artistwantab1 »

I recently upgraded to windows 10. I reinstalled Cobian and now I can't figure out how to stop it from always wanting full backups.

I have TB"S worth of data and can't possibly allow this to continue.

Here are my settings.....

Any reason why the archive attribute is not used in your task?

There is no logical reason.

I tried it with default settings and thought that might be what was the issue.

I just clicked it and tried running back ground and its still backing up all files.

Tried reinstalling and no good.

All I need it to do is look at the file name and date and change it if the date has changed.

The default settings is Use archive attributes ON, and Clear archive attribute ON.

OK...that seemed to solve the problem with not making multiple backups but...

Now its ignoring files and folders? I have never had it do this so no clue what causes it.

To get it to stop doing full backup. I moved most of the files to another location for testing.

Then after it stopped doing full backups I moves the files back.

Now it its about 1tb short but the backup says its complete.

Because the backup is incremental and no file has been modified.

So how do I force it to look for any missing files in the backup without it affecting the files that have already been backed up?

Just an incremental backup will do. Only missing/nodifies files will be copies (as long as you use the archive atribute and clear it afterwards)

Well...

I have all those checked and its about 1tb short on files?

No errors just that download is complete.
