Preserving files' modified dates

I have "Copy timestamps" specified under Options / Engines. When backing up files on the same computer, it works as intended (the backed-up files have the original modified dates). But when the source files are accessed by ftp, all of the backed-up files end up with the current date and time. Is there anything that can be done to keep the original modified dates?

Not supported yet for FTP
