incremental backup of mapped network drive

Post by jenns »

I am trying to do incremental backups of a drive that is physically on another PC in the network. It is mapped and has a drive letter. Speed is fine but whenever I want to do an incremental backup I get a new full backup. On local drives the incremental backup works just fine. I guess it has to do with some archive flag? Is there a workaround?

The source may be in a Linux partition of some non-NTFS system that doesn't support the concept of archive attribute.

Thanks for your quick answer! The Source is an NTFS partition, both PCs run Windows 11.

Does the user running the task have permissions to change the source? Some shares are read-only.
