Filters not working

Greetings!

I've been using Cobian Backup (CB) for some time to back up my Synology NAS. However, recently I've noticed CB doesn't respect what is in the Exclusion list in the Filter section.

Synology uses #recycle folder where it temporarily stores everything that is deleted. I've placed *\#recycle\* in the exclusion list, but I still see CB backing up that map nevertheless. This wouldn't be much of a problem if Synology wouldn't make some changes on files in that folder on a daily basis, which screws up incremental backups in CB.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug in CB?

Try with the mask

*\#recycle\* \*

This will exclude even the subdirectories.

That did the trick. The folder is still being backed/packed up, but now it's empty so it doesn't use any space in the end.

Thanks!

You can check the option: Delete empty directories on the Advanced tab.

Hello,
I have a similar problem. for me the filter doesn't work when including the files.

all folders are still copied. however, the content is ignored.
I only need data for the backup where the folder contains "11-30-00".

Hello.
Filters for included files don't work for me either. I point out that you only need to copy files with the mask *.xxx and only newer than yesterday. Anyway, copying starts with files from three months ago. The file creation time filter is ignored.

The modified timestamp is checked, not the creation timestamp.
