FULL Backup folders not visible in Win10 (But others are visible)

First, thank you so much for this great looking software. Can't believe I haven't found it before. I'm a new user and installed on a couple pcs to check it out.

I have only done 2 backups on each PC. The backup is a DIFFERENTIAL but a full backup should be created on first run. The backups are being created. However, using the File Explorer in Win10, all of the FULL backup folders are not visible...but the DIFFERENTIAL folders are visible. It's the same on both pcs.

I can get to the folder via the command prompt, but that's not what I want to do. Also, I have confirmed the folder does not have the hidden or system attributes on and the security tab has the same access for all. I logged into one of the pcs as the administrator and that account also could not see the FULL folders in the File Explorer.

Here is some output from a PowerShell DIR listing:

Code: Select all

Mode LastWriteTime Length Name

..I believe first full backups are *Parked* in Cobian, but that wouldn't make them invisible, right? Actually, I'm still not sure how they are not visible. I need to learn this trick..haha.

Any suggestions on how to get all the folders visible in File Explorer?

Thanks for any suggestions.

You should exclude the file desktop.ini from your task in order for Explorer to show the real directory names.

I can add that exclusion if needed but how do I get the folders that are already created to be visible in File Explorer? Also...why does backing up the desktop.ini file change the names of folders or make them invisible?

Thanks

To see the real names just delete the desktop.ini file from the existing directories. Note that you need to uncheck the option "Hide protected operative system files (Recommended)" from Explorer in order to see the file.

On Explorer: View- Options - View tab - Uncheck "Hide protected operative system files (Recommended)".
