Backups with .Z01 extension

Post by Jbcbussoft »

I have set up Gravity on a computer that performs a backup for a small Network. There are some shared folders on several different computers and they are backed up to aportable hard drive. I have set the backup to use Windows compression. It backs the data up and puts it in a compressed folder format but it also includes other backup files that have a .z01, .z02, .z03 etc. So far in my testing of these files there appears to only be one of them, per backup, that is accessible and that is through giving the file a 7-Zip extension. Some of them I cannot read at all. Those that I can read appear to be duplicates of the windows compressed data file. Any ideas?

If I remember it correctly, the first archive contains a table for localization of the rest of the files. You should decompress the first one and the unpacker should automatically load the rest.

Why does it have both a Windows compressed folder backup and a 7Zip styled backup?

Hmm... You configure the backup the way you want.

Okay I'll go back and look and see if I'm causing this. Thanks for the reply.
