I'm having whole computer freezing when cobian tries to do ftp transfer

Hi!
I am convinced that it is not a problem with cobian, but some incompatibility of services from a badly configured windows 7.
That's because I've been using the same setting for a long time on another computer.
On this computer every transfer attempt results in a crash and forces me to take the computer off power.
Have you ever heard of something similar?
Or can you list me all the services that are involved in performing the backup?
Your software is excellent, I'm actually desperate not to need to reinstall windows.
