Unchecking Encrypted Archives in Cobian 11 Gravity

Post by harish »

Hi Luis,

How to uncheck "Encrypted Archives" in Cobian11 Gravity Decryption tool? I'm unable to uncheck the option. It is completely greyed out.
Please find the image attached.
Thank you,
Harish

The decrypter is used to decrypt files, so the files are already encrypted. Therefor you cannot uncheck this option.

The backups are set to No encryption. And in the earlier image there is no source file selected. By default, when you open decrypter it option is enabled.

If the backups are not encrypted, then why are you using the Decryptor?

Then yes, they are encrypted. So you use the Decryptor tool.

I get this kind of request from time to time, but I think it's more of an ethical thing to never help with this kind of problems. That because encryption is meant to be private and secret and you never know the whole picture. It could be some other person trying to get into a person's document's, a boss trying to spy on an employee, a toxic husband on his ex-... You get the picture. :?

Hi Luis,

There are these .ini files in the cobian-> settings folder. When I open .ini files I see two lines Passphrase and Run as password. Can we use these passphrase or run as password for decrypting the data? Are is there any way we can retrieve the password from these passphrase or run as password?
