HI,

I have a problem with Cobian 11 when the destination is an FTP Server
( is the first time I use as destination a server FTP)

in the source folder I have 2 subfolder
ex.
FOLDER
- SUBFOLDER001
- SUBFOLDER002

when I run the backup the first time the FOLDER in FTP server is correctly saved

the second day the source folder will have other sobfolders
ex.
FOLDER
- SUBFOLDER002
- SUBFOLDER003

when the backup run, the destination folder appear as

FOLDER
- SUBFOLDER001
- SUBFOLDER002
- SUBFOLDER003

the third day the source folder will have other sobfolders
ex.
FOLDER
- SUBFOLDER003
- SUBFOLDER004

and the destination folder is

FOLDER
- SUBFOLDER001
- SUBFOLDER002
- SUBFOLDER003
- SUBFOLDER004

and so for the following days

why the old subfolder [ex. SUBFOLDER001 SUBFOLDESR002] are always present and not deleted ?

many thanks for your help

Giovanni

Mirrors are not implemented on FTP destinations.

If you want to have some kind of mirror, I think you should configure one Cobian Backup task as follows :
  • General : set "create new separate backups" (the root folder name of the backup will be followed by the date)
  • General : select "Full backup"
  • Dynamics : set "full copies to keep" to 1
  • in Cobian Backup Tools, Settings, Engine : unselect "Park the first backup"
This should do the trick.

If I am not wrong, everytime the backup task is run, Cobian Backup will create a new backup with the date of the day and after it finishes, it will erase the previous one.

This mimics the mirroring you are trying to get.

THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDED OPTION as files erased on the source will be erased forever on the backup too.

Best regards
