Uncompressed extentions ... still compressed

Post by bogdan »

Hi!

I plan to use your Gravity soft (thank you for it).
I have a folder that I want to backup dayly to a zip file on another drive but I do not want Gravity to (try to) compress the RAR and ZIP and JPG files inside my folder. It would be a waste of time because they are already compressed.

I created a task to back up my folder to a zip file and I noticed that in Tools-Option-Compression, RAR, ZIP and JPG files are listed under uncompressed extensions. I was happy with these options!

I run the task to see it at work and the program stayed a looong time saying ”Compressing BlaBla.RAR” (in my source folder) and my expectation were just to copy it to the destination archive in an instant.

Did I do something wrong?
p.s. I have 7zip installed and I selected ZIP as a compression method under toos-options-compression , compression level 7

No. It has always been so since the 80s. Uncompressed means 0% compression.
