Access is denied. (code=550) on backup to local ftp

hello,

getting these errors recently. was not having this issue for some time:

ERR 2024-10-23 20:05:10 An error occurred while uploading the file "D:\QB\QuickBooks\company.TLG (2).old" to "/QB/QuickBooks": Access is denied.  (code=550)
ERR 2024-10-23 20:05:10 An error occurred while uploading the file "D:\QB\QuickBooks\company.qbw.TLG (3).old" to "/QB/QuickBooks": Access is denied.  (code=550)

i tested the same backup, except changed the location the same computer, versus the ftp running on a local server. it worked fine. however, some files did transfer ok to the ftp server, with the exception of those referenced above.

any help is appreciated!

Quickbooks is known for aggressively holding the files. Are you using VSS?

yes, vss is enabled.

so when i do a test of the same backup, but to another location/ drive on the same computer, there are no errors.
