(31) A device attached to the system is not functioning

Post by MrPineapples »

Hi,

I've been trying to get Reflector to backup my PC for a couple of weeks now.

I am running Windows 11.
I have a network attached device mounted as a share.
I can manually copy files to it with Windows Explorer.
I am running incremental backups.

The backup copies some files and directories and fails on others.
The failure message is always the same:
ERR 2022-09-04 05:02:16 The directory "\\<pcname>\<directory>" couldn't be created: (31) A device attached to the system is not functioning: [\\<pcname>\<directory>]
I check the NAS after the backup fails and I can copy files to it just fine.

If I run it multiple times, it will get further through the backup. It takes about a week to backup the 47GB running once a day.

Any ideas on what can be causing this?

Thanks

My guess is that the program is running as a service and not as an application.

No idea. If you can work with the SMB partition manually, it should work as an application as well.
