Reflector engine stops running

Post by klawr »

Randomly the Reflector engine stops running. The Service is set to Autostart. Manually starting the engine works. It will autostart when the PC is rebooted. Windows 10.
Reflector v1.1.5
If any suggestions please let me know

Do you find some error in the EventViewer? (The Windows Applications log)

Installed v2.3.5. Having same issue with the engine not starting (or shutting down).
Found a Windows Log (Application), below (for Reflector, and included one for Volume Shadow Copy in case helpful)
Thanks.

Seems the first one is indicating that the program cannot delete the log files (?)...

Is there anything you would suggest I try to address the issue? Not sure if related, but I have configured the program to emailing the log file to myself when there are errors.

Ok. Reflector lost the list of jobs today, log window is below.

Reflector log file seems to have lost the job list as of the last entry below:
----------------------------------
2023-01-23 09:14:01 Backing up the task "Roboform - Backup"
2023-01-23 09:14:01 Applying the parameters to the task "Roboform - Backup" (if any).
2023-01-23 09:14:01 Requesting the creation of a Volume Shadow Copy image for the source...
ERR 2023-01-23 09:14:15 An error occurred while sending the log files: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Temp\Log files for Cobian Reflector.zip' because it is being used by another process.
2023-01-23 09:14:15 The Volume Shadow Copy image has been successfully created.
2023-01-23 09:14:15 Starting the copy. The user running the task is: "username"
2023-01-23 09:14:15 The directory "C:\users\"username"\appdata\local\roboform" is being added to the monolithic archive...
---------------------------------------------
Note, I replaced my PC username with "username" for this post.
----------------------------------------
Then, when I manually started the Reflector service, the following entries were added:
-------------------------------------
2023-01-23 21:48:53 Welcome to Cobian Reflector!
2023-01-23 21:48:53 Program version: 2.3.5
2023-01-23 21:48:53 Loading the task list "C:\Docs\Cobian, Syncback, Goodsync\Cobian Reflector\RKList11.lst".
-------------------------------
Also, I have two disk backup programs which also use Volume Shadow copy - Aoemi Back Upper and EaseUS ToDo Backup. Mentioning because it seems the issue occurred above shortly after volume shadow image was created.
Thanks.

This is happening because the program is crashing while mailing.

I will make some changes. My guess is that the user has problems deleting the created compressed files.

I have turned off Mail Log File, to see if the job list continues to disappear. Will let you know.
