Hello,
I've setup an incremental backup with full backup every 5th run.
The first backup is, as expected, a full one. Now (accidentally) delete that one! Even worse in my case, the first full backup stopped with an error, not all files were copied.
The next four backups are all incremental, but since no files were modified or added, they are all empty.
The result: I don't have any file backed up!!!
Is there a way to NOT use the archive bit but nonetheless to use the incremental or differential backup method? Is there a way to tell Cobian Refelector to really compare the files on my disc against the corresponding files in the backup? Or is it possible to check if the last full backup succeeded without an error and do another full backup if not?
Incremental backup does not backup anything
Re: Incremental backup does not backup anything
Just uncheck "use archive attributes".

Ok, that would solve half of the problem
Then every backup is full. No chance to do a differential or an incremental backup then...?

Re: Incremental backup does not backup anything
This must be combined with not creating separated backups of course. If backups are separated then the destination file is not found and every file will be created anyway. There is no magic bullet.
