BACKUPPING NAS-to-NAS WITHOUT GOING THROUGH A LOCAL TEMP FOLDER

Post by maurodom »

I need to backup foders from a NAS to another NAS of different brands and models.
This without passing trough/using a local temporary folder.

In my Cobian Reflector.ini there are the following statements:
Use system temporary directory=False
Temporary folder=
then I believe it should non use any local folder as temporary folder and I am expecting it will directly backup from one NAS to the other.

So, what should be a correct Cobian Reflector.ini ?
Or, is there a workaround to let Cobian Reflector do a direct backup between the two NASs?

Temporary directory is almost always used when compression only. It shouldn't have (almost) any use for uncompressed backups. If Use system temporary directory is FALSE, then you need to provide a path for the folder to use.

I have the same problem. I want to make an incremental copy between 2 nas.
But a temporary folder is generated on the host.
Is there a way to do it without going through the temp folder?

Only if not using compression.

Without compression, the temporary directory is never used (only if you tick the CRC option, but it's off by default)

As sent on the screen, the files are copied to the temporary folder (f:\backup) and then moved to the destination.

But you are using sftp. There is no way to copy to another sftp without creating a temporary copy.

There is no standard way to copy from a sftp to another sftp without creating a temporary copy.
