Seems like a Access Denied exception. I would try these 3 steps to find out where the error is

1) Run the Permissions tool and try starting the interface again. Does it work then?
2) Start the interface as an administrator. Does it work then?
3) If you start the interface with the -notray option, does it start then?

and restart the computer (or kill the UI process and start it manually)
I had the very same problem and the above fixed it

Progress! Running as admin allows the UI to run.

However now I get an error with the shadow image copy when I run a quick test. (I've repeated that a couple of times)

I also have four entries in the event viewer:

Creating Volume Shadow Copies for the drive(s): F:\

Initializing backup.

Couldn't create the snapshot: The creation of a shadow copy is already in progress..

An error occurred while preparing for backup: The VSS object was in an incorrect state for the requested operation..

I am wondering if a Windows reboot might clean that up. I have been experimenting with both Cobian Backup and AOMEI backup.

YES! The Reflector UI run as administrator and after the reboot there is no complaint from VSS.

The VSS problem indicates that the system was in an inestable position. If the UI runs as an administrator there is definitely an issue with permissions somewhere.

With the reboot cleaning VSS and the workaround of running as admin, I am 99.9% good now! Thank you so much for helping me out.

There is no other package available that has the exact features in a backup system that I use other the Reflector and its performance is excellent! Thank you for continuing to develop and support it so well.
