Archive attribute cleared ?

Post by LarsErik »

Hi!

I tried a backup with: TaskName=*** Test ***
and with the following source and filter

Source
Source
Source.png (21.62 KiB) Viewed 693 times
Filter
Filter
Filter.png (23.34 KiB) Viewed 693 times

I get a lot of the following errors about directories not included in the backup:

ERR 2022-11-21 18:59:13 Could not clear the archive attribute from the source "C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\GameDVR": (5) Access is denied: [C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\GameDVR]

ERR 2022-11-21 19:01:22 Could not clear the archive attribute from the source "C:\Users\Lars-Erik\AppData\LocalLow\Oracle\Java\jre1.8.0_261_x64": (5) Access is denied: [C:\Users\Lars-Erik\AppData\LocalLow\Oracle\Java\jre1.8.0_261_x64]
ERR 2022-11-21 19:01:22 Could not clear the archive

ERR 2022-11-21 19:03:27 Could not clear the archive attribute from the source "C:\Users": (5) Access is denied: [C:\Users]

It worries me that the program is trying to clear the archive attribute on directories not included in the backup.
What if the Access is not denied as in this case. Would not a future incremental backup here fail to back up these directories?

There are also a lot of messages of this kind about directories not included in the backup:

2022-11-21 19:00:05 Ignoring the directory "C:\Users\Lars-Erik\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Content.IE5". Reason: the directory is a reparse point.

I am curious about why test directories not included in the backup.

By the way, this is not exactly the real backup. I have simplified it to get a small number of files in order to save time.
I have used Cobian backup for many years and it is now time to switch to Reflector.

Thank you for a really good backup program it does exactly what I need. :OK :APP

I attach "MainList.lst" and "Logtab"
I can send you the logfile too if you wish.

Because the task is overcomplicated. Add "C:\Users\Administrator" as the source. Delete the Include filter and leave the exclusion filter. Then the program won't touch anything outside "C:\Users\Administrator"
