Logging in Cobian Reflector

Post by Simon »

Hello
I'm using cobian reflector for extensive backups.
Everyday I have large logfiles. They are taking up too much space. And I want to keep them for a year or so.

I desperately would like two options,
1) to be able to specify a path for storing the logfiles, i.e. to store them somewhere else and *NOT* storing them in the installation directory.
2) to be able to optionally compress the logfiles (preferably 7z)

I hpoe such an implementation would not be too difficult.

thanks in advance

The first requirement could be done if you add a string value to the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CobianSoft\Cobian Reflector

The value must ve named CustomPaths and must contain the directory name that will contain the logs, the database, the cache and the lists. For example: D:\Data

Then you just copy those e directories to the new place and restart the program.

Be aware that you need to copy or move those 4 directories and not only the Logs.
