Hi,
I recently switched from uncomrpessed files to compressed files (7zip format) in order to limit the number of files I backup on my NAS.
It seems however that when uploading the 7zip files to my NAS, that cobian reflector uses all the available bandwith.
Does that make sense and would there be an option to limit the upload bandwith to prevent this ?
Question regarding bandwith usage
Re: Question regarding bandwith usage
Set the speed limit in the settings of your ftp/sftp connection.

Re: Question regarding bandwith usage
A lot of time the speed is limited by the time it takes to open and close small files, not the wire. When you change it to one big file and both ends are fast enough to support it, the limit will change to the wire speed and it will use all the bandwidth.
Re: Question regarding bandwith usage
I'm not using ftp or sftp but rather a mounted network folder (which, I realize now, means that the software might consider it like a "standard" file copy ?)
Re: Question regarding bandwith usage
Then you are out of luck. When you copy a file in Windows Explorer you cannot limit the bandwidth, so can't be done here either (I use the Windows API)
