backup only does first source

Post by focwizard »

When I enter 2 sources to back up in a task, Cobian Reflector 2.3.4 only seems to backup the first source. I have 2 sources, because my Windows files are all on my C: drive, and everything else is on my D: drive. My intent is to migrate the C: drive to a SSD, but no SSD can hold all my data files, which reside on D:, and I'd like my backup to be from both sources (C: then D:), so they're in sync.

Shouldn't the backup recognize multiple input sources per task, since it allows entry of multiple sources?

Yes, it works with multiple sources.

But does it work with multiple sources, from DIFFERENT disks? When I had sources from my C: drive AND my D: drive, only the C: drive sources seemed to be copied. Even the size estimates only seemed to use files on my C: drive.

My reason for having 2 drives is optimization. My OS files are all on C, which ( place on moving to a SSD drive. My work/data files are on D: (a totally separate drive, not a partition). This seems to eliminate a lot of the slowdown, where the system pages much less.

Works with different disks as sources. Tested as now.

Then I'm confused. Attached is a jpg of the schedule and files selected. Also a jpg of the log (the program wouldn't attach a .txt file, with the message "invalid file extension", followed by the full filename of the log). As the log shows, nothing was backed up.

What am I doing wrong? Backing up the individual entries works fine.

But what is the result when you run the task?

Exactly as shown in the log. No backup is created. The last backup created was on 01/16/2023.

But is the computer on (not sleeping) at 22:00?

It may have been in sleep mode. I had thought that, running as a service, it would wake up. In any event, I've now set the power and sleep to ALWAY keep the machine on. No idea when or why it changed, as it was always on before. Will let you know the result tomorrow.

Sleep mode is sleep mode. You can configure that the computer wakes up at 22:00 using Windows Scheduler.
