Backup environment variable

Post by joks »

Hello,
i read parameters in help and i see that there is variables like:
%PICTURES, %VIDEOS, %DESKTOP and %DOCUMENTS so:

1. can you add also %DOWNLOADS ?

ps: could you check if the variables work in the latest version?

i use Cobian Reflector as Windows Services default run as SYSTEM
and when i change in SOURCE environment variable from my old like:
C:\Users\admin\Desktop to %DESKTOP in Cobian tasklist my size from 2GB show 0 bytes and when i run backup job it`s create only archive with 1kb without errors. i delete backup job and create new one with all parameters %PICTURES, %VIDEOS, %DESKTOP and %DOCUMENTS and again tasklist show 0 bytes and all archive have 1 kb. when i edit backup job and add manual all path C:\Users\admin\Desktop, C:\Users\admin\Pictures, C:\Users\admin\Videos, C:\Users\admin\Documents tasklist show correct size and backup end successful.
here is the screenshoot with added variables

I also noticed that none of the variables work. I am using cobian in service mode run as domain account because I'm uploading files to a network drive. if I can help in any way by testing the version or sending logs let me know. I really miss this option because using variables I could create one task with %userprofile% and distribute task to several computers without any manual corrections in task path.

if variables work for you so what i do wrong ?
i manual in sources add %DESKTOP and add next manual source %DOCUMENTS or maybe i must change how Cobian works and disable Cobian services startup and run Cobian as application with GUI ? because in logs i see that variable %DESKTOP want backup C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop instead C:\%userprofile%\Desktop so variables don't work with the system service ??

The SYSTEM account is a special account. These are the correct folders for that account. Run the service under your account to obtain the expected results.

%DOWNLOADS is not an OS variable often it depends on the browser being used (especially on older windows versions)
