Cobian Reflector - Acces Denied When Copying Files

Post by Rigenberg »

So, I use both Windows 10 on my PC at work and on my PC at home. At work I use Cobian Reflector daily to do backups at the end of the day, and it gives absolutely NO issues. At home though, I have been trying for MONTHS now on and off, but it just doesn't work. It just won't copy anything, always giving the "An error has occurred" blah blah blah "Access Denied" or "file cannot be access by the system". I have probably gone through every thread on this forum pertaining to what exactly the reason can be:
Ignore reparse points in directories, make sure service is running as an application, make sure I have full access to all files I'm copying (which is all the folders in C:/user/myname, which is what I copy at work as well), and everything else that has been mentioned on here. If it wasn't for the fact that this program works PERFECTLY at work I would have given up on it a long time ago, but there MUST be something that can be done in order for me get it to work at home as well. I would REALLY appreciate any assistance with this, please.

Perhaps the access denied refers to the destination? What is the destination you are using?

To an external hard drive with the path:
D:\BACKUPS\MY PC\WINDOWS 10\MY NAME\

Is the program installed as a service? Under which user?

Then no idea, sorry. If you can copy the files manually, the the application should in theory do that as well.

Yeah it's super frustrating. Works so well at work, but not at home. Thanks anyway, and Merry Christmas.

If you try with cobian backup (11 the old version), is there also the problem?
