Hello.
When checking the FTPS connection on Windows 2016, an error occurs:
"Connection check error: This implementation is not part of the tested cryptographic algorithms of the FIPS windows platform"
An error window also appears:
"The Remote Tester program does not work"
(The errors were translated by GoogleTranslate)
The solution helped:
You have the "System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing" security setting enabled. It needs to be disabled. To do this, go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy and in the Security Settings tree go to the Local Policies -> Security Settings node. Find the policy “System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing and signing” and disable it in properties
But only for manual mode!
In scheduled mode it still doesn’t work and the Cobian service shuts down.
There are 2 errors in the Windows log:

Re: FTPS problem in Windows 2016
Are you using the new client with version 2.5? And old client cannot be used with that version.

Re: FTPS problem in Windows 2016
Is the server Filezilla perhaps. If so there are some problems with it. I will be adding a FTP client update in the next version that should work fine with filezilla server.

Re: FTPS problem in Windows 2016
I'm not sure if Hetzner backup server uses FileZilla.

Re: FTPS problem in Windows 2016
The server is limiting which algorthms you can use:
Launch your Windows Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Local Security Policy. The Local Security Settings panel launches.
Click Security Settings in the left pane to expand, click Local Policies to expand, and then click Security Options.
Locate and right-click the System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing entry in the right pane, and then click Properties from the shortcut menu. The System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing Properties dialog box appears.

Re: FTPS problem in Windows 2016
Thank you.
But I already wrote in the first message that this solution only helps for manual mode and verification. In automatic mode (in scheduled mode), the error remains.

Re: FTPS problem in Windows 2016
The Cobian service is started from the local system account.
Re: FTPS problem in Windows 2016
Yes, because this change of policy is a Per-user setting. Perhaps there is a machine-wide policy that has the same effect?
