CobianReflectorService crash

Post by Guilletzky »

Hi Luis, how are you?

I'm using Cobian since several years, on several hosts, currently most of them using Reflector.
Thanks for the great development and updates during the last year.

The main issue I'm facing is caused by a service crash, that generates some unwanted consecuences like the local storage filling due to the incomplete cleanup of temp files, backups loss, etc.

We've successfully deployed a workaround for this issue, creating a scheduled task with a script to start all services every day before the backup.

But, it would be great to know the reason why the service CobianReflectorService crashes, to fix it and avoid this kind of issues.
Do you know if there's a way to debug/diagnose the service crashes? I can do the needed tests and share them with you.

For the moment, the only error I've found in the event viewer is the event ID 7034 on the System log and events ID 1000 and 1026 on the Application log (screenshots attached below)
But don't know if with these errors you can find the crash cause.

Versions used in this example:
Cobian Reflector: v2.5.00
OS: Windows Server 2019 v1809

Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Guille

It seems it's the log file class which is crashing. Try using the Repair permissions tool to see if this solves the issue,

Thanks Luis.

I will check with the tool. I saw some VSC errors later, also on this host.
I'll keep you posted.
