Misunderstanding: archive file attrib and backup type.

When I unchecked "use archive attributes" in the properties of the backup task, I see that I cannot set the backup type to "incr" or "diff" (only "full").
Why?
After all, technically a backup application can create a "diff"/"incr" backup based on the last modified date/time (not only based on "A" file attrib).

Incremental, yes, it can be created. Differential, definitly not possible.

If in CR, then how?

It's the same logic for both programs.

My guess is that you are now creating separated backups which of course makes impossible to create incremental backups without the archive attribute.

(в общем случае; не применительно к CR)

Ведь, если резервная копия будет содержать файлы, дата/время создания или последней модификации которых больше даты/времени создания последней полной резервной копии, то это и будет дифференциальная копия.

Например, если последняя полная рез.копия была создана, скажем в 9:00 1945-05-09, то файлы, созданные или изменённые после этой даты будут образовывать дифф.копию.

Разве не так?
