Hibernation problem

I have a lot of files to backUp, approx 653750 files. The order of the execution of the progam is that first it counts the number of files and then stops the hibernation. In my case the programmed time before hibernation is not enough and the system hibernates before the end of the count. I know the solution would be to extend the time before hibernation, but shouldn't it be better to first block the hibernation and then to count the files?

Another solution : don't count the files and begin the backup right away. You will only lose the exact progress.
