SOLVED - the safe mirror directory doesn't exist or cannot be accessed

Post by Anze »

Sorry if this was solved in any past thread :)

In my case, i have Windows 11 and all is running ok, but I always received the message "the safe mirror directory doesn't exist or cannot be accessed", being activated "mirror task" in advanced settings or not.

The solution was easy to find:
Go to the TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> ADVANCED and you can find a check called "use a safe mirror directory" (or similar, I've Cobian in spanish) and you can see the directory where Cobian try to create a mirror backup.
Go to this directory (possibly you need to unhide the directories) and search for it. The most probable is that the directory doesnt exist: ok, create it with the same name.
Click on OK al launch the task withour errors ;)

P.D.: Sorry for my bad english, I preferred no use translator to practice.
P.D2.: Ty Luis Cobian!

That's exactly the point with the error. The user should solve it, but it seems that few people realize how to do it. I am trying to find some other solution to this. Same about the temporary directory. if the user impersonates some other user AND the temporary directory is set to the users default directory, the same problem will arise.
