Execution on the last day of month, montly.

Post by ehsolis1 »

Hi, I used Cobian Backup a few years ago and left using it cause life situations.
Now, I'm back to use it for come tasks for office.
¿How can I see "next execution" from a task? It would help me a lot, to be sure I configured as I wish the execution.

Wide (much wide ;) ) explanation:
I need to program 2 executions at the end of a month, specifically, the last day, ever (28th, 29th, 30th or 31th, depending of the month).
I just configured a test task, but I'm not sure how should be the scheduler parameters:
Option 1:
  • Schedule Type=Monthly
  • Select days of the week=True
  • On day=Last
  • Days of the week=Nothing selected <--This require select a day, at least
  • Date/Time=5:00 pm
  • Days Is Inactive
  • Months Is Inactive
  • Timer(minutes) Is Inactive
  • Lower limit Is Inactive
  • Upper limit Is Inactive
Option 2:
  • Schedule Type=Monthly
  • Select days of the week=False
  • On day Is Inactive
  • Days of the week Is Inactive
  • Date/Time=5:00 pm
  • Days=31
  • Months Is Inactive
  • Timer(minutes) Is Inactive
  • Lower limit Is Inactive
  • Upper limit Is Inactive

Because "Days of the week" is required for my Option 1, this is not functional for me. I don't need to execute tasks on last sunday or last friday of a month, I need it on last day of the month.
My Option 2 seems to be close, but doubtful, because of two scenarios:
  • If I select only "31" on "Days" parameter, i don't know if the task wil be running on June 30th, September 30th, etc.
  • If I select "28", "29", "30", "31" values on "Days" parameter, tha task will be running on days before the last day of a month, but this shall hinder other related areas at work.
I think the best option would be based on Option 1, but with no days selected, and "Last" value selected on "On day" option, to run the task on the last day of each month of the year. How can I be sure of that? Now, no way, unless there are a way and I don't know it.

Thanks a lot.

The Next execution of the task is shown by opening the latest history item. So at least one backup must exists.

Testing a void task (only events) and an incremental task, the next execution is no shown.

Void task doesn't save any record on History tab, and doesnt show next execution.

You need to double click the history item to see the next backup time.
