local and remote users

Post by gvd »

Hello Luis,

I have a domain controller which hosts my backups and a computer which is not in the domain and only has local users.
I installed Reflector as a service using the system account.

Problem : my local system account is not recognized by the domain controller and I have access denied errors. Expected !

I added pre-backup events : "/c net use" a ressource on the server using credentials defined in the active directory.

Problem : I still have access denied errors. Not expected at all ! Worked with Cobian Backup.

I wanted to add a user from my active directory as a user of my computer and reinstall the service using this user but Windows 10 does not allow me to do so.
I wanted to add my local user to the active directory and reinstall the service using this user but Windows Server (can't remember the version) does not allow me to do so.

What did I miss ? What can I do ?

Thanks for your help (and for the great job you are doing).

So you are running the task as an impersonation with the remote user? Is that correct?
