service as current user KO at install

Post by vinsse2001 »

Hello !
So as to make possible backup via network, I need to activate service with current user account.
If I install it after CR is installed, it is ok (via Tools > Service > Connection, I put name of user (as shown in C:\Users) and password (my pwd is 18 chars, contains min/maj/numbers, apostrophe, coma and spaces)

with last version (0.9.35), I choosed this install option (to configure user as soon as install, not after), but I had error.
So I install service with current user, after install of CR, it was ok.

(for information, i never tried before to configure with a user from CR install, always after)

Absolutely the same method is used to install the service in both places. Same procedure called by the 2 programs. Are you *sure* that you introduced correctly the 18 characters long in the setup?

Hi Luis,

I downloaded last version of CR (0.9.40b), tried again, same error. With previous version, again.
I tried to be 100% sure when I put my pwd at install, always error (below the log). And just after, in menu Tools > Services, it is ok.
Some ideas :
- maybe it is because my user id is "utilisateur" (i did'nt choose it, it was already defined like this when I bought my refurbished laptop) ?
- in both cases, I just put "utilisateur", without domain.
- my account is connected to Microsoft (not a local account only).
- when I verify directory C:\users, dir is "Utilisateur" (with upper cap first letter), but I put "utilisateur" at install (all lower)
Hope it helps ;)
Is there another install log than I can send to you ? (I don't see more info in C:\Program Files\Cobian Reflector\Logs, only the previous log with info about new version)

Vincent

FWIW, I saw the same thing installing the version I updated to yesterday, but I assumed I had just typed in my password wrong.

Tested here. Works OK. I have a domain account. BUT with a local account I was able to reproduce your problem. Will be fixed on the next version

Hello,
I tested with last version 0.9.42beta (I put "utilisateur" and pwd), always the error. And more : all tasks disappeared !
I tried to install again, with same config, error again, and no tasks.
So I tried to install with default options (user system local), install was ok, and all tasks appears.
So I tried again to install, specifying my user, but as you said, with ".\" before (so .\utilisateur), and it was ok like this ! yipee ;)
