Hello

about long files -
there is a log

Code: Select all

2021-12-19 16:41:28 Adding the directory "D:\Общая" to the archive...
ERR 2021-12-19 16:42:38 An error occurred while creating the monolithic archive: The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters.
2021-12-19 16:42:38 Clearing the archive attribute of the source directory "D:\Общая"...
2021-12-19 16:42:47 The monolithic archive "D:\CobianTMP\Общая.zip" has been created. Files in archive: 0. Folders: 25027. Ignored files: 7751 Uncompressed size: 357,46 GB
    --skip--
    2021-12-19 16:42:47 Disconnected from 192.168.1.98.
2021-12-19 16:42:47 * Backup part for the task "DocsDaily" has ended. Number of backed up files: 1. Backup part size: 46 bytes. *

what can I see?
* there is a some of files with too long path (and I`m have to somehow locate it to fix issue)
* thats why we do not backup whole Folder
* but archive attribute for all files anyway will be cleared

imho, right behavior- skip these loooong filenames, and continue backup other sweet user files. and show me these long path.

Yes, long path are not supported by standars zip files. This will be possible when the program supports 7z.

Dobar dan

I have the same problem on a Windows 10 PC. I enabled long path support in the registry, but I also get an error when copying files from a local drive to my NAS (QNAP D2, NTFS) using Cobian Reflector:
"Syntax error in file name, folder name, or volume label"

If I rename the file from a long name to a short name, there is no error.
I have a lot of files with long names :(

The program fully supports long paths. This error is somethinng else. If you try to copy the files manually in explorer you will surelly get the same error.
