Backup cleanup sequenze

Post by alexdom »

I use cobian reflector for backup of about 30 folders - each folder in 1 backup-zip. In the "Dynamics"-Tab I set up to keep 2 full copies.
My problem now is, that the cleanup step ("Deleting some full backups and associated differential/incremental backups.") is the last step after all 30 folders. Because of this I run into an backup size problem.
A solution for me could be to perform the cleanup after each folder.

The old backups cannot be deleted before the backup is done in case of failure.

Would it help if you created one backup task for each folder?

They should run in sequence if all set to start at the same time.

Yes, I understand that the backups should only be cleaned up after the backup is successful. But what I meant is that after a successful backup of a folder, the cleanup for that folder can be performed directly. After this should the next folder be backed up.

Actual workflow:
backup folder 1
backup folder 2
...
backup folder n
cleanup folder 1 to n

desired workflow:
backup folder 1
cleanup folder 1
backup folder 2
cleanup folder 2
...
backup folder n
cleanup folder n
